THE CHURCH IS A DIVERSE GROUP OF SINNERS ADOPTED BY GOD AS HIS PRECIOUS CHILDREN. OUR FAMILY NIGHTS EXIST TO HELP US LIVE OUT OUR MISSION TO ENJOY JESUS AS A FAMILY IN AUBURN.
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers... And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved."
As a family, we gather weekly in homes to enjoy Jesus together as we speak the truth in love to one another. As we do so, we help each other continually make Jesus the center of our lives.
Our hope is that our times together would lead to relationships that extend throughout the week. These relationships allow us to truly begin to live as a family who love another just as Christ loved us.
We also believe that together we can do more to love, serve and bless the city of Auburn than we could ever do on our own. Our Family Nights give us an opportunity to join together to humbly display the love of Christ to Auburn.
One of the last encouragements Jesus gave his friends before he ascended into heaven was,
"GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU."
Discipleship is helping one another follow all that Jesus taught and commanded. We believe discipleship is best done through friendship. The following 8 Discipleship Lessons are resources meant to be discussed with a friend (or group of friends) in order to grow in discipleship together. We encourage you to download a lesson, walk through the content, then pray for another to walk out that truth.
At Stone Church we lead by serving. We are a group of servants loving and serving both Jesus and each other.
"IF ANYONE SERVES ME, HE MUST FOLLOW ME; AND WHERE I AM, THERE WILL MY SERVANT BE ALSO. IF ANYONE SERVES ME, THE FATHER WILL HONOR HIM."
Because Jesus served us, we are now enabled to serve one another and our city. Serving one another and our city is a lifestyle that can be done in the everyday and seemingly most menial ways. As a church family we also serve one another and Jesus by serving on a Stone Serve Team.
WE HAVE FOUR SERVE TEAMS.
The Welcome Team overssees the hospitality and friendly atmosphere of Stone Church. Everything from the cafe table, connection table and the warm smiles at the front door is executed by this team. If you want to help create a welcoming atmosphere at Stone Church, the Welcome Team could use you!
The Media Team oversees the audio and visual aspect of Stone Church. Everything from the setup and operation of the audio, video, and lighting systems, to the photos taken on Sundays, is executed by this team. If you have experience with audio, video, and lighting, or have a desire to learn, this is the team for you.
The Stone Kids Team leads in caring for the children of Stone from the ages of 6 months to 10 years. Some volunteers teach while others help give general instruction and care, but all work together to point kids to Jesus! If you want to help lead the next generation to Jesus, then Stone Kids is for you! (please note: Stone Kids volunteers must attend Stone for a minimum of 3 months and complete a background check)
The Facilities Team prepares our building for guests to feel comfortable and at home. This team works behind the scenes stocking materials, vacuuming rooms, and preparing our meeting space. If you would like to help people feel welcome at Stone, this team could use you!
